Legal
Terms of Use
The terms that govern your use of GraceTranslate. This is a template to review with your own legal counsel before you rely on it.
Please read this first
This page is a template. It is a starting point for the terms that govern your use of GraceTranslate, and it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Before you rely on it, please have it reviewed by qualified legal counsel familiar with your church or organization and the laws that apply to you.
Throughout these terms, "GraceTranslate," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the GraceTranslate service. "You" and "your" refer to the person or organization using the service.
Acceptance
By creating an account, accessing the live app at https://app.gracetranslate.com, or otherwise using GraceTranslate, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you are agreeing on behalf of a church, ministry, or other organization, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.
If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the service.
The service
GraceTranslate is a real-time voice translation service built for churches and ministries. A speaker talks normally, listeners scan a QR code on their own phones, choose a language, and receive live captions and a natural AI voice a few seconds behind.
The service is listener-driven: the operator selects only the source language, and listeners turn on any of 90 supported languages on demand. GraceTranslate also provides live captions, transcripts, summaries, and auto-generated social media posts.
Translation is produced by automated systems. It is meant to help people follow along, and while we work to make it accurate and natural, it may contain errors and should not be treated as a certified or official translation.
Accounts
To use certain features you will need an account. You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your login credentials secure, and to be responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
Please notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You are responsible for ensuring that the people you allow to operate the service, such as AV volunteers and staff, follow these terms.
Acceptable use
You agree to use GraceTranslate lawfully and in keeping with its purpose of serving congregations and audiences. You agree not to:
- Use the service to violate any law or the rights of others.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or its systems.
- Resell, sublicense, or provide access to the service in a way not permitted by your plan without our written agreement.
- Upload or transmit content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you do not have the right to share.
- Use the service to harass, defraud, or harm others.
Plans, language-hours, and billing
GraceTranslate is billed by the language-hour, which means one language interpreted for one hour. Our plans are Starter at $99 per month (6 language-hours included, then $19.99 per hour), Growth at $499 per month (33 hours included, then $17.99 per hour), and Network at $4,499 per month (350 hours included, then $15.99 per hour).
Subscription fees are billed in advance for each billing period. Usage beyond your included language-hours is billed at the overage rate for your plan. Unless stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable and do not include taxes, which are your responsibility where they apply.
You may change or cancel your plan as described in your account. Changes take effect according to the terms of your current billing period. Prices may change, and we will give you reasonable notice before a change affects you.
Free credit and trials
New churches that get in touch may receive $200 in free credit to try the service. Free credit and trial offers are provided at our discretion, have no cash value, are not transferable, and may be subject to additional conditions.
We may modify or end credit and trial offers at any time. Any unused credit may expire as described at the time it is granted.
Intellectual property
The GraceTranslate service, including its software, design, text, and branding, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your church or organization in accordance with these terms.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the service except as expressly permitted. All rights not granted to you are reserved.
Your content
"Your content" includes the audio you provide and the captions, transcripts, summaries, and posts generated from it. As between you and us, you retain ownership of your content and of the underlying messages your speakers deliver.
You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the service, such as processing, translating, storing, and delivering your content to your listeners and to your account. You are responsible for having the rights and any necessary permissions to use the content you provide, and for complying with the privacy expectations of your congregation. Please see our privacy policy for how we handle data.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that translations will be accurate or complete, that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will meet every requirement. You are responsible for deciding whether the service is appropriate for your use, especially for sensitive or critical communications.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GraceTranslate and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the service during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Termination
You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, if required by law, or to protect the service and its users.
On termination, your right to use the service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law, will continue to apply.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice, for example by posting the updated terms or notifying you through the service.
Your continued use of GraceTranslate after the changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which GraceTranslate operates, without regard to conflict of law rules. The specific governing law and venue should be confirmed by your legal counsel and set out here before these terms are published.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will stay in effect.
